WellStar West Georgia Medical Center Named 2019 Large Hospital of the Year

Georgia Alliance Honors Hospital for Outstanding Healthcare and Community Support

 

(Greensboro, GA) – WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange was named 2019 Large Hospital of the Year by the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals (the Alliance) at its 36th Annual Conference, held on Oct. 16-18, 2019. 

 

The “Hospital of the Year” award highlights the impact of member hospitals on individual patients, the health and wellness of Georgians, and the quality of life of their communities. The Alliance selected WellStar West Georgia Medical Center for its demonstrated commitment to improving access to care and expanding critical health services.

 

WellStar West Georgia Medical Center has increased the availability of healthcare services to indigent members of the community by providing free medical care and prescriptions for qualifying patients through its Community Service Clinic, and its deep involvement with promoting good health for all within its service area.

 

WellStar West Georgia Medical Center recently broke ground on a $24 million dollar renovation and expansion of the Enoch Callaway Cencer Center, to bring all cancer services under one roof and expand the availability of advanced cancer care.

WellStar West Georgia also recently added a Da Vinci XI Surgical System, and a renovated Sleep Lab. WellStar West Georgia offers a free overnight grief camp for children through West Georgia Hospice.
