Call for 2010 Award Nominations!

It's that time of year again: time to nominate the best in Georgia's mission-driven, community hospitals. Each year, the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals honors the best of the best through the "Hospital of the Year" awards program.

Awards Criteria
Hospital programs will be evaluated on their impact on one or more of these goals:

Supporting direct patient access by providing improved access to underserved populations
Supporting major economic development initiatives
Supporting major quality-of-life initiatives
Providing extraordinary community benefits
Enhance or expand critical health care services to the hospital's community or service area

Nomination Submissions and Eligibility
Hospitals must submit a letter of nomination (maximum of two pages) and no more than five supporting documents – newspaper articles, brochures, videos, posters and commendations. As appropriate, testimonials or endorsement statements from individuals in a position to assess the benefit of a hospital’s program should be included and will be considered. These include patients, local civic leaders, newspaper clips and other documentation.

Award honorees must be a current member of the Alliance with dues paid in full; have 501 (c) (3) or equivalent tax status; and not have won in the previous two years. Nominations for CEO and Hospital of the Year competitions must be submitted by September 1, 2010 in order to be eligible.
